Financing Small- Scale Housing: Strategies for Projects Under 50 Units- CRED Project
The CRED (Comprehensive Real Estate Development) Project brings redevelopment training to life by taking participants directly to the project site — where learning meets practice. This immersive, on-location workshop is designed for developers, municipal officials, lenders, and community partners eager to understand how to finance and deliver small-scale housing projects of fewer than 50 units.
Through a mix of classroom-style instruction and real-world site engagement, participants will explore how smaller developments can be structured, financed, and executed within New Jersey’s complex redevelopment environment. The session will cover critical topics such as assembling layered financing, leveraging public incentives and gap funding, building partnerships with local lenders and CDFIs, and aligning projects with municipal redevelopment goals.
By walking participants through a live redevelopment project, this workshop offers a tangible look at how small projects can transform underutilized parcels into vibrant, income-producing housing that supports neighborhood revitalization and community growth.
