Kenneth Bland Jr. is a seasoned leader in impact investing, community development finance, and corporate social responsibility, with a proven track record of deploying capital to drive equitable economic growth and community transformation. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Kenneth brings a personal commitment to advancing opportunity and revitalization in the very communities across New Jersey that shaped his early perspective.

With deep expertise spanning affordable housing finance, grantmaking, commercial real estate, and industrial lending, and complex tax credit transactions, he has built a career at the intersection of finance and social impact.

Most recently, Kenneth served as Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Prudential Financial, where he led a place-based philanthropic strategy focused on inclusive growth in Newark, New Jersey. In this role, he managed and deployed a $20 million grantmaking portfolio across sectors, including affordable housing, education, small business development, and arts and culture, while cultivating partnerships across public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders.

Previously, as Senior Director of Community Engagement at Nonprofit Finance Fund, Kenneth led national initiatives to expand access to capital in underserved communities. He was instrumental in raising $20 million in blended capital and spearheaded innovative programs such as the BEACON initiative, designed to help nonprofits acquire and sustain real estate assets. His leadership contributed to strengthening community development ecosystems across major markets, including New Jersey, New York City, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area.

Kenneth’s earlier experience includes leadership roles at Valley Bank and TD Bank, where he originated, underwrote, and managed loan portfolios exceeding $100 million across nonprofit, commercial real estate, and middle-market sectors. His work has consistently focused on expanding access to capital while maintaining strong credit discipline and risk management.

In addition to his professional work, Kenneth is an active civic leader, serving on multiple nonprofit boards dedicated to economic development, education, and community advancement.

He holds formal training in credit and community development finance through programs with NeighborWorks America and TD Bank, further strengthening his expertise in mission-driven finance.
